DRIVE-THRU SANTA’S SLEIGH TO BRIGHTEN THE HOLIDAYS, Nov 29, 2021

It’s not too early to start embracing the spirit of the upcoming holiday season. A tradition since 1995, due to the pandemic last year, Santa’s Sleigh was reimagined. This year the team at South Whidbey Fire/EMS has once again devised a safe and streamlined way for the South Whidbey community to experience Santa’s Sleigh. The drive-thru event extends for several hours on three consecutive evenings, Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 9-11.

Inspired by last year’s successful event, instead of visiting communities over the course of a week, everyone is invited to join Santa, Mrs. Claus, Elves and even the Grinch at the Bayview Fire Station, 5579 Bayview Road.

Participants are invited to simply drive up the hill to enjoy lights, music, decorations, goody bags and greetings from Santa and friends. All visitors will remain in their vehicles, and follow all safety guidelines, including wearing masks and social distancing.

The community is encouraged to spread out visits over several hours, rather than all arriving at the same time. The time to visit is between 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 9and 10. On the closing night Saturday, Dec. 11, the drive-thru will welcome guests between 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Donations of non-perishable food will be collected for Good Cheer Food Bank. Donations are not required in order to participate in the event.
